The proud American tradition of guilt by association.

Wait.

What?

“guilt by association”

don-o, thanks for providing whatever information surfaces.

I know you will agree that “guilt by association”, “mass arrest”, etc. was not extended to everyone who was there at Twin Peaks. Not everyone was arrested by virtue of merely being there . . . being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Merely being present did NOT result in arrest. The waitresses were not wrestled to the ground like the recent bikini-clad pool party invitee or crasher. Not in the least. There were no restaurant staff or Sunday brunchers arrested.

Not even all bikers present were arrested.

The members of Snyder’s club were not arrested. When that fact was pointed out, some responded with: OH he was BIG, he knew police, etc. Why isn’t his club an example of some innocent bikers who were NOT arrested? OK I guess I see it. Any BIKER who was NOT arrested, had to be complicit with the police? OR? Why not a rational conclusion that these individuals in this club, despite being there, were not deemed suspicious of criminal acts? Isn’t that what people want / wanted the Waco LE to have done? And when they did so, and did not arrest someone . . . .??

Reyes’ girlfriend was not arrested when she pulled into the parking lot and was questioned.

We do not have a list of those who were not arrested. There are no doubt a lot more of them.

The situation is bad enough without some (not you) perpetuating the idea that merely being there was guilt by association to be subject to the mass arrest. The truth speaks otherwise.

The arrests were as far as I have been able to determine, of bikers wearing colors.

It was not enough to merely be there, to be arrested. Not everyone who was there was arrested. Some of your readers seem not to be aware of that distinction.

Servus, of course.
