Sometimes public opinion is wrong. Hence, due process and rule of law.

True. And sometimes public opinion is right. I think this case is an example.

No public opinion, the cop saw the video of his hysteria, along with his attorney and his union rep, and the Chief, and the cop instantly resigned.

No due process was skipped, no rule of law ignored.
