I agree as long as the deferment clause sticks. WE all know that the local draft boards are not going to send the Mayor’s kid.

The other problem is that we have no place to send them, or jobs to give them.

A conscript army would simply mean that we would HAVE to go to war to justify it.

It would mean a better quality military. Instead of under 10% of Norwich University going on to military service, well over fifty percent would. The same with VMI, the Citadel, etc. The military as a whole would get better personnel.
