Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Speaker John Boehner. They are under pressure from colleagues up for reelection in swing states and districts to extend the subsidies, at least temporarily, if the court strikes them down

rinos support the status quo rather than whats best for the country

The best play here is to provide a “two sentence solution.” The first sentence giving the President for what he asked and the second adding Concierge Medicine as an exemption or addition to the list of “authorized insurances.”

Then sit back and watch capitalism do its thing and kill Obamacare in a matter of months. I don’t expect any Republican politician to do something that clever. Most of them don’t belive in capitalism themselves.

given how they just rolled over for their corporate handlers who wanted to remove healthcare from the corporate ledgers, it seems they are scared their deal with the devil will backfire.

It will be the budget bill all over again.

1. The Republicans will offer a bill extending the subsidies for a year or two while ending the employer and individual mandates.

2. The Democrats will cry murder and demand a “clean” bill that only extends the subsidies.

3. The lamestream media will side with the Democrats, and run story after story about all the poor people who are having their subsidies taken away by those mean spirited Republicans.

4. The Republicans will then cave and give the Democrats their subsidies back.

Republicans should be aggressive, pass affirmative reform, and when Obama vetoes it, repass it again. Pin the tail on the donkey.

As to the subsidy issue, turn the subsidy into a premium support voucher, and allow real competition among health plans.

>>The GOPE proves it is liberal by refusing to defund pure Socialism.

The GOPE are those stupid people who think they can keep rattlesnakes in their yard to warn off intruders and then can’t figure out why their snakes bite them more often they do intruders.

They think that we can become just a little bit socialist and stop there before it hurts the bottom lines of the Elites. They don’t realize that the snakes in the yard won’t stop until we are full-blown communist with Christianity driven underground. And then there will be nothing to stop the people from going French Revolution on the Elites who arranged for us to trade our Wal-Marts for bread lines.

So why is this a dilemma?

DO NOT underestimate Republicans propensity for betrayal of their base.

They might actually re-write the 4 words in question to avoid this uncomfortable place.

The only way you can get the subsidies is to live below poverty level. Even then, you couldn't afford the monthly premium.

My personal experience is that due to an accident, I was off my job for over 6 months subsequently losing my job/benefits. I was advised to file for private insurance to afford the surgery I need to get back to work. I do get disability insurance I paid for while working, but it amounts to about 40% of what I was making.

I started the process of finding an "affordable" policy. The best I came up with was $681/mo with a $6000 deductible. I applied for the subsidies which would have only given me $200/mo savings. (I ultimately didn't qualify because my previous year's income showed I made too much. They don't use current circumstances) I would still have to struggle and pay "out of pocket" until the deductible was met... while trying to find a way to pay the premium. It's a no-win situation.

Our cowards in House and Senate “leadership” will simply amend the words to include Federal subsidies.

They don’t have the guts to whack Obamacare.

Darrell West, director of governance studies at the Brookings Institution: It does create a political problem for the GOP because there could be millions of people who got health insurance as a result of ObamaCare who lose it
There could not even be ONE. Medicaid has been around for decades -- Zerocare merely *requires* people to sign up for coverage *or else*. The fact is, this case is a no-win scenario for the Demagogic Part. Nice of the partisan media shills to tip us off about how bad it's going to be for the Pubbies.

Not to worry folks.

Roberts is still blackmailed. The ‘law’ will stand, no matter how he has to pretzel himself to make it so.
