I live in an HOA governed community, and the HOA/community actually owns the roads and everything inside the main entrance. It's all private property... we pay for the roads, the street lights, etc.

I don't know what the arrangement is on this community we're discussing, but I have read that the outsiders/crashers were inside the clubhouse/pool area and even in the pool... and all of that is private property.

Agreed. My point is that even if the green space wasn't gated with key access, it was still private for the home-owners and not public space for non-residents to use.

An article yesterday wrote of the racism of public swimming pools. The intent of the article was typical liberal intent to confuse. It started with how northern public pools were desegregated, but southern pools when segregated. It went on to say that rather than desegregate southern pools, towns would sell the pools to private clubs instead. The purpose of the article was to suggest that ALL private pools are an attempt to keep blacks out, even community pools in residential areas paid for by homeowners for their own restricted use.
