I met a long-term business associate from Argentina last week. We were talking about the state of their government.

I didn’t know it, but voting was mandatory (and enforced) there. He believes its the main reason why they continue to have the never-ending socialist destruction they do.

Time for GOP held states to ditch the winner take all electoral systems and go proportional. I personally prefer awarding electors according to districts a presidential candidate wins.

Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio is a busy guy. He’s got more than enough on his plate already, needing to deal with his city’s skyrocketing crime rate, crushing poverty in the areas that the TV cameras don’t cover and a police force which doesn’t much care for him

Not to mention the widespread use of salt in restaurant offerings, the easy availability of sugary soft drinks in convenience stores and the scourge of horse-drawn carriages.

He is exactly right. We need to go back to the Republican form of government of which this nation was founded. No more Democracy. The founders HATED Democracy. They regarded it as mob rule.

Only people who pay taxes should be allowed to vote. The voting age needs to be restored back to 21. These repairs will solve much of what is currently wrong with the nation.

Democrat held states will never do it. There has been chatter in favor of it here in Michigan and it sends the democrats off the rails with screeching about republicans trying to steal elections.

If anything, it gives the GOP a fighting chance here in Michigan but not much more. Where it really hurts the democrats is the fact that it wouldn’t matter how many votes they create, that district would only get one electoral vote.

Best way to scare off new voters is to remind them that when they register to vote they also have a chance of being called for Jury Duty, as Jurors are pulled from the voter registration lists.

I’ve known lots of people who refuse to vote so they won’t have to serve on a jury.

That’s the way it works here.
