"So now pulling a firearm is deadly force."
Attempt to use deadly force. Assume the person pulling a firearm is not a police officer but a non-acquaintance. When police arrive, they find the non-acquaintance who tried to pull laying there, dead, with a firearm. If the police were not fed any kind of screwy story, it would be assumed that there was an attempt to use deadly force.
If it's a rifle, it depends on whether or not there was any attempt to point it at someone or threaten them. But then, too, if the police come to find a dead person with a rifle and one witness who shot them (or beat them to death their bare hands for that matter),...well, you see.

Tell you what, you go out in public and pull a firearm and point it at people. I’ll wager the cops will consider it to be deadly force.

(I could eat it raw, but why do that when I have a fire.)
