I guess as a Jew you don’t understand what Christian forgiveness is......it’s ONLY given if one is sorry.
I a Christian and I understand that forgiveness can be separate from consequences. A family member may forgive their son’s killer and the court may reduce time served but doesn’t have to let him go and declare him innocent.
Yes, Duggar supporters seem to want Josh declared innocent by courts and by public opinion and further, the girls declared “fine” as if it’s “no harm, no foul.” The supporters want it to disappear as if it never happened, classified as normal mistake for that age, “hormones” etc. and since they believe this is “normal” then the girls cannot have been harmed so the damage to their lives has to be denied and the girls will just have to play along and deny it too once it’s declared “normal” behavior.

But no one knows from the outside what is in someone’s heart. Those girls / women have no chance. They are part of their cult plus part of a TV show, a product, if you will. So both their father’s need to be famous and Rich, plus maybe their husbands’ commands, and just the brainwashing that might have come along with this that “what brother did was no big deal” might have affected their forgiveness.
Yes, truly, it is very hard for Jews to understand the theology of Christians, forgiving strangers for their sins. In Judaism only a victim can forgive, and some sins are unforgivable because they are so permanent, like murder.
