you can practice the law if you have a record. jail house attorneys do exist.

of course, how you’re able to practice the law while breaking it by being an illegal immigrant is beyond me.

yes, you can learn the US code.

no, you cannot try a case in court for anyone other then yourself. if you were representing someone else, you would be conducting business in the US... which you cannot do as an illegal alien.

it’s really not that difficult... unless the point is to find some way to ‘empower’ the illegals

NY state is one of the most restrictive states too. He will not be allowed to practice in other states. There is no interstate commerce for attorney licensing.
