Abbas must be encouraged that his demands constitute the Obama track, and dismayed that Obama is leaving. Abbas knows how inconvenient elections are, which is why he no longer holds them.
The palestinians can not afford a peace treaty with Israel. The day they sign an agreement, the international relief funds would dry up...It is interesting to note, for example that the UNRWA Camp outside of Jericho, which has been in existence since 1967 and perpetuated by the UN, are within site of dozens of Palestinian Palaces...Therfore, Abbas, and Arafat before him, could not afford ‘peace’ with the Jews.
