There is no "right to kill" - but there is a right to use deadly force to defend oneself.

If I honestly believe that your push is meant to get me off balance or on the ground in order to do me greater harm, then I am justified in using deadly force to stop that greater harm from being inflicted.

So then the decision to shoot you or not shoot you is entirely up to my analysis of the situation? No other guidelines other than what I perceive your intent to be?
