What did the full video from the second patrol car show?
“What did the full video from the second patrol car show?”
********************************************************************************************
What they showed was a snippet (their wording for it) of the video from ONE patrol car. They didn’t say whether it was from the 1st arriving or 2nd arriving patrol car.
I’m always suspicious (for BOTH “sides” of an issue) when only selected material is released. They need to release it all or, if not, explain why the hell they aren’t releasing it all. The trooper on the left in the video snippet didn’t get all worked up in one second; he was jacked up from the beginning of the video. Was he angry because the flooded motorists (you know, the ones he was responding to in an assistance call) didn’t instantly offer absolute obedience to his commands?
Hi kiryandil,
From the news conference my sense is that full, unedited recordings are being released to those requesting them. But, I seem to remember the spokesman saying that they did not show the altercation or shooting. My speculation is that the second trooper vehicle was parked at a location (because of the narrow road) that was not useful in any recording. As I watch the video, I can see a pickup go through water in the road way. The Fischer’s truck was in the ditch which is designed to collect water from the roadway. Some can be very deep, and wide. I’ve not seen any footage, nor do I have personal experience with the specific location.
Sad situation before the encounter. Sad situation after the encounter. I was interested that the desk jockey from the Washington Post quoted a sister as saying that there are only four witnesses one dead, one in jail, and the two troopers. I suspect that there will be witnesses uncovered. I base that on the level of traffic in the video. What they may have observed will be interesting.

P.S. When the full videos are put online, I’ll do my best to get them up.
