I scanned through this post...never did see anyone post that N.F. had a gun.
Maybe I missed that.....................
Last time I checked, manslaughter wasn't a hanging offense. :)
See my posts #64 & #65. :)
Hi kiryandil,
From the news conference my sense is that full, unedited recordings are being released to those requesting them. But, I seem to remember the spokesman saying that they did not show the altercation or shooting. My speculation is that the second trooper vehicle was parked at a location (because of the narrow road) that was not useful in any recording. As I watch the video, I can see a pickup go through water in the road way. The Fischer’s truck was in the ditch which is designed to collect water from the roadway. Some can be very deep, and wide. I’ve not seen any footage, nor do I have personal experience with the specific location.
Sad situation before the encounter. Sad situation after the encounter. I was interested that the desk jockey from the Washington Post quoted a sister as saying that there are only four witnesses one dead, one in jail, and the two troopers. I suspect that there will be witnesses uncovered. I base that on the level of traffic in the video. What they may have observed will be interesting.

P.S. When the full videos are put online, I’ll do my best to get them up.
Uh, maybe they didn’t want to get out of the water?
One has to die for defying the nanny state?
Always avoid the cops. Anyway you can.
Instead of attacking my point, you go for the weak attempt at levity. Perhaps you need to reflect back to your post #42.
Wonder what the troopers said to make a pastor annoyed enough to shove one of them?
.......................................................
Youre willing to imagine that the dead man was a righteous Pastor based on very limited info, but by your comments it sounds like youd bring the rope to hang the cop based on the same limited info.

How about we wait to see ALL THE VIDEOS IN THEIR ENTIRETY. From the “snippet” it’s clear that the one trooper and the pastor were both pretty pissed. More information (i.e., more video) = more clarity.
As things stand, ALL the (objective) information is in the hands of the police and they are only very selectively releasing portions.
Good point.
Perhaps I don't take advice from people who've only been on FR 1/3 of the time I've been on it...

I am going to act like I didn’t read that and give you 24 hours to come up with a better reponse than that. I will even turn around, promise not to look, and let you ask friends and relatives for help. But please come up with something better than that reply.
Lovely story, just your type, too bad its fiction.
Just for you I watched the news. Channel 9, OKC, reported that the “preacher” knocked the Patrolman down and held him under water trying to drown him. Both Patrolmen shot him.
I’ve done the same.
You won’t see the cop sucker trolls do the same.
Off-Topic. While I was looking up info about this shooting, I listened to one of Fischer’s sermons—Reaping What We Sow—posted at his church’s site. He seemed like a nice man.
I have no doubt that he was a good man; that is what is so odd about the situation. Sometimes (I don’t know if it applies here) our words don’t match up with our actions. We call that lack of integrity. As I age I think more about doing what I say.
Darkness, high emotions, with scant people around can affect many of us to do things we wouldn’t otherwise do. I’ve been in situations involving all three and having the devil on my left shoulder battle with the angel on my right shoulder. Figuratively, of course. But the belief that no one would see me is pretty powerful.
As I wrote before. It is a sad situation for all involved.
Thanks.
Did we hear the brother's side of the story yet, or was this still the "offical version"?
Nah. Get back to me in a few years, n00b.
If the only person at risk is myself, can they still order me to do or not to do something? If I attempt to run into a burning house to save my only child, are they justified in shooting me for disobeying their order? Can they order me to not to go freestyle rock climbing, skydiving, kayak over a waterfall or swim in a flooded river, because they consider it unsafe? If they can't force me to stop kayaking class five whitewater, where do they get off forcing me from the river if I was trying to save my truck?
This happened in Tulsa, so might be their news had more.
There will be the version presented by the official investigation, and there may also be a carefully parsed version presented by the brother's attorney.
I am not sure of the precise statute in OK, but if someone dies while you are busy committing a felony like assaulting a peace officer, in many states you are exposed to second degree murder charges.
The video shows one of these men definitively committing assault and/or aggravated assault.
