Secretary of State John Kerry suffered a broken leg in a bike accident in France early Sunday, and will return to the U.S. for treatment, the State Department said.
The cycling accident occurred near Scionzier, France, about 25 miles from Geneva, where Kerry had been holding nuclear talks with Iran's foreign minister, Javad Zarif.
Kerry was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Geneva in a stable condition, and is said to be in good spirits.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said Kerry had suffered a broken femur, but is expected to make a full recovery.

All that head and he lands on his leg? That’s some odds right there....
Too bad he didn’t land on his chin. Lots of cushioning under there. Would have bounced right back up.
He is asking the Ayatollah to draw a picture of Mohammed
on his cast. Next will be the world tour to get every head
of state to sign the cast.
More purple hearts coming. Congratulations John!
Lets see...
1) his own fault
2) resulted from misuse of equipment millions of others use without incident every day
3) not currently in military service
I believe #3 would preclude him from receiving a purple heart
Me neither.
Except for him...and Harry Reid, and Billary, and Mitch McConnell.
Time to get a 3 wheeler you old fool
Is the bike ok?
Tell me about it. Broke my femur in 1972. Worst unending, intractable pain I ever experienced. I’ve experienced childbirth twice, and both were a walk in the park comparatively. Still experience debilitating pain every now and then, and the resulting arthritis isn’t insignificant. The insertion of the metal rod was horrible, and it was extracted a couple of years later with no anesthetic. Lurch better hope they have better pain control nowadays.
Film on this page.

Garmin should sue for having their name dragged through the mud like that!
All of the people cycling with him [iposted a film after] look like they are wearing comfortable clothes. Not Kerry, he’s bright colored, nodding and posing.
See Drudge photo
Whew....surprised it took 12 posts.
This is worse than any of the injuries for which he was awarded Purple Hearts in Nam.
Ever heard mention of any scars from Nam?
HA HA
OMG I miss Mystery science theatre 3000 LOL!
Kerry’s policies are the Kenyan’s policies are the policies of the criminal democrat party. They can all meet a painful death, the sooner the better, and the to the extreme benefit of the Constitution, the Republic, and the world in general.
Piss on them all.
In the above article, Kerry’s spokesmouth said the femur break is near the site “of his previous hip surgery”.
I never remember hearing about Kerry having had a hip replacement, but if so, a femur fracture near the site of a hip replacement is a very, very bad thing.
To do a hip replacement requires screwing the prosthetic hip joint down into the femur. If the break is anywhere near that, the stability of the whole mess is at risk. To repair that is kind of like putting toothpaste back in the tube.
Mrs. AV
Regardless of how good a headline might appear, there is always bad news in nearly every article.
“..........in a stable condition, and is said to be in good spirits.”
“.....is expected to make a full recovery.”
Depressing.
I don't have access to any records, but I would speculate that he's the only 3-time purple heart winner in the history of the military to never spend a night in a hospital due to his "injuries'.
Too bad he didn’t break his mouth and need a cast on it for the next 18 mos
