Needs to be challenged in court. Someday, soon, that remedy won’t work anymore.

Release the tapes and take these GOP traitors to the wood shed. They should all be primaried at the earliest opportunity.
In the meantime, Gov. Abbott should hear from Texans who resent lawmakers who want to keep scandals of government officials secret. He should veto this bill.

Why they picked 1985 only lawless liberals and repugnant Republicans can know.

That's about the time the Republicans started scoring major defections from the Democrats. Phil Graham and Rick Perry switched sides during that period, along with many others. Also, Bill Clements, the first Republican governor since Occupation/Reconstruction won his second term in 1986.

It was not passed for what has been released, it’s for what is coming down the pike. There is a lot of talk about some serious **** that will start leaking soon, related to TX politicians. Me thinks it’s a preemptive strike.

Corruption and politics are a bipartisan problem in Uniparty America.

Interesting story and I wonder how Abbott and Patrick (Gov and Lt. Gov.) feel about it, among others.

I say 95 percent of Republicans are not conservatives or patriots, just business as usual politicians.

An unconstitutional law is void and does not need to be abided by.
It is the lawmakers who must prove that any law is Constitutional beforehand,
but that seems to change with each newly elected group of tyrants.

Did any of them do the smell test on this farce?

they flipped out and quickly jammed through legislation, SB19, which would criminalize this First Amendment practice from 1985 forward.

Wouldn't that make it an ex post facto law, which the Constitution specifically prohibits?

Fascism is as rampant among the GOP as it is the Dims. The really sad part is that some “conservative darlings” are as fascist as any of them and we look the other way. It’s what they count on.

C’mon people. We are NOT Libtards.

What do you do when you have a two-party system, and both of ‘em suck?

Doesn’t matter either Texas or any other State include the Federal Government. It is so damn corrupt that Americans will never know this crap we elect.

it is us versus them..

not pub and dem..

not lib and so called conservative..

but the people versus politicians..

until we the people stop listening to the pundits and start electing our neighbors, we are doomed..

When did Townhall start requiring that reader comments be placed through Facebook? FB is in my opinion is an outright foe of conservative principles.

The CEO favors amnesty, gun control and spying on Americans, but not illegals and tracking your political beliefs, likely to be used against you when needed. Chances are they’d never hire you as a conservative except as an underpaid runt of the bottom of the ladder.
