I believe Joe had brain surgery. I think it was a tumor. That's why Levin shouldn't call him "Plugs". I think he's trying to cover the scar.
On an earlier thread today, I almost commented that of all the Democrats, Joe is the hardest to dislike. I heard him on the radio once and he was genuinely funny. Not like the goofy stuff he says on stage.
