Are they building up their submarine fleet?
I don’t get it. The linked PDF showed that Russia, France, UK, Germany and even Italy were all spending more that Poland. Did the author just miscalculate or do I just look at things wrong?
Maybe they meant in terms of gdp per capita.
I believe the author is referring to the rate of increase, not the total number.
Percentage increase. The Poles have a very good and highly professional military, and one of the best special operations team in the world (GROM). It is to Poland’s credit that GROM has been deemed good enough to operate along the likes of the SAS, DEVGRU (ST6) and CAG (Delta), which is proof sufficient that the unit is top notch. If the Russians ever try any silly nonsense in Poland they will get a nasty welcome.
Considering what happened to Poland in the last century: do you blame them?
Singapore’s defense budget is roughly the same, to defend roughly 200 sq miles. Poland’s number is nothing like its Cold War levels.
