[ “Political corruption and sexual deviance seems to go together”

Power and sex and inevitable sexual abuse all go together.

Most people cannot handle the power of doing anything they “want”.

Until you have it, you wont understand how power can corrupt even the most noble man ]

Maybe some of the ancient cultures (Greeks, Rome and China in particular) had it right when they Neutered their politicians of a certain class.....

With today’s medical science soon they could remove the politicians junk and hold it for safekeeping till their term is over and then re-attach it.

It would have two advantages:

1. it would naturally term limit them as they would want their parts back sooner rather than later.

2. there would be less of the sexual deviancy going on on the hill.

Power corrupts.

I remember, back in my days of working on/around Capitol Hill, all the attractive young women and men who ruthlessly try to land a Congressman. Either for career advancement or just sport. Regardless of that Congressman’s marital status. If you were a male Congressman wanting to get laid it was an all you can eat buffet. If you were a weak willed Congressman, you were pretty easy prey.

I also know that a lot of male Congressmen, usually at the insistence of their wives, had staff who were designated to shadow their Congressman and run off the vultures.

I was more House-side, but heard the Senate was much, much worse. A lot of Senators have what are called “hideaways” in the Capital, which are secret private rooms they can trick out any way they’d like. And pretty much use however they’d like.

SICK.
Like ancient Rome in the perverted Nero days.

Federal prosecutors alleged that Hastert agreed to pay $3.5 million in apparent hush money

Why 3.5? why not 4 or 5? How did he come up with that kind of scratch?

ALL THAT FOR SEX?

Must have been that good. Or bad.

If that’s true, then he should be thrown into prison for the rest of his life....

...with the rest of the corrupt of government...starting with the Clintons. But that’ll never happen.

I think if we knew just how morally corrupt our ‘leaders’ really are we’d be sick, physically sick.

I've always said that most politicians have committed at least one felony to get where they are. Many have committed numerous felonies.

Just sayin.

He’d have been left alone if had been making donations to the Clinton Family Foundation.

My WAG => The unnamed cash recipient screwed up with his new found wealth - perhaps tried to buy a fancy car with cash, for example - and came to the attention of authorities. He spilled the beans and is now cooperating. In return, he gets a plea bargain of some sort.

If you take 3.5 million in cash out of the bank in approximate 10k increments, there is very high chance the feds will be looking in to it. And if they recognize your name, probably 100% chance.
