That's the one I am most concerned about- WHO GAVE THIS ORDER AND WHY???
Nobody has ever been implicated in issuing a “stand down” order. I think the official version is no stand down order was issued.
The order would not have been to stand down, but to GO. The U.S. military will not violate another nations sovereignty without explicit orders to do so.
Who did not issue the order to go is the question. And we know that the commander-in-chief was aware of the situation. And available. At least until his bedtime.
