NEW YORK, May 28 (UPI) -- Former New York Gov. George Pataki announced he's joining the race for president in 2016 with a video message on his website Thursday.
The 69-year-old was governor of New York for three consecutive terms, leading the state through the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks at the World Trade Center.

Most people could not pick George Pataki out of a line up so why is he running?
New Hampshire primary FEB 9. Massachusetts & Vermont MAR 1. Just fragmenting the vote until the MAR 15 winner-take-all primaries. The 70-year old geezer’s got nothing else to do.
He's hoping to endorse the potential winner and get an executive appointment. Just like Hillary did.
He has every reason to believe that running as a centrist RINO will work. Just ask presidents Romney and McCain.
How about we just say, “Anyone registered Republican is a candidate for the presidency.”?
That looks like the way it’s going....
Pataki is saying all the right things. The buzz after his announcement is going to be interesting.
Should be good for a laugh. He already did a Top Ten list on Ketterman years ago. (Late 90s?)
Letterman. I hate the tiny keyboard.
George “Dole” Pataki.
He’s sweatier than Nixon v. Kennedy and works the teleprompter worse than even B-HO.
“Pataki. He was good as New Yorks governor.”
Pataki was a disaster for NY and the NYS Republican party.
Under Pataki, the state budget has soared 79.5 percent from $63.3 billion in 1994 to $113.6 billion in 2006. Patakis 12-year-average annual spending rate is 4.9 percent.
George Pataki turned the New York GOP into a machine devoted exclusively to the empowerment and enrichment of his coterie, the New York Posts Eric Fettman observed. Theres nothing left that even resembles a genuine infrastructure capable of recruiting candidates with strong statewide appeal

What a doofus, he died his hair, plastered down the comb-over, got himself a great tan and says he’d be a great president. A real RINO, 12 yrs. as governor in NYS and nary a whimper about abortion, and all on with gay marriage.
This “run” will get him the invites to corporate board of directors and perhaps a few speaking engagements - I guess he so wants to be relevent and make a few bucks at the same time.
....and lets not forget his enabling of the assault weapons ban. NY adopted and ratified their own version
I think this is completely pointless. The Rs are already screwing this up. Talk about your ego maniacs!
Pataki was very RINO as governor of New York State and seemed to compromise and meet the Democrats frequently.
I do remember George Pataki’s first week in office though.
Thomas J. Grasso murdered an elderly couple in their 80s in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was sentenced to death. Mario Cuomo, governor of NY, did legal skullduggery and had him brought to New York to serve a previous 20 year sentence before Oklahoma could have him. As Pataki’s first act as the newly sworn in Governor of New York, Pataki, pardoned Grasso. Oklahoma immediately took possession of him and brought him to Tulsa for execution. He was room temperature soon after that.
The more the merrier! Lets hear his message—what will he do to save the Republic? We can weed them out in time—we are better off than the Demicrats—who just have corrupt Hillary doging the press as the scandals grow.

I heard him on Hannity, this afternoon, and he sounded a lot better than I was expecting. I didn’t hear his introduction, and I kept thinking...Who is this? It CAN’T be Pataki! Sure enough, it was. Very states rights on issues, which surprised me. Up on ISIS/foreign policy issues.
