They are so lying.

“Please, please don’t throw me in the Briar Patch” says Brer Rabbit. But when thrown in the Briar Patch, “Ha ha, I was born and raised in the Briar Patch...”

According to a survey of more than a dozen Democratic lawmakers, former members and strategists conducted by The Hill, Democrats believe that Cruz – a fiercely conservative Texan known for pushing buttons both in and outside of the Beltway – would alienate independent voters along with forcing liberals to the polls and give Hillary Clinton, or whoever is the Democratic nominee, the best shot at winning the presidency.

"That's what I've been telling you Republicans!"

Sure, they know the RNC funding machine will never get cranked up to 11 for Cruz

Brer Rabbit giving campaign advice.

I'm a Cruz supporter and I don't think he can win. Why would the Democrats think he could win?

Ted Cruz is an actual latino, ergo, he is anti-latino.

Jeb Bush is not in any way a latino, ergo, he is pro-latino.

Makes PERFECT sense, in a liberal sort of way.

And supposedly conservatives are being “brainwashed” by FOX. If the idiot left would actually watch the network they would know it’s hardly a right-wing network. If anything, it tilts more to the middle with a bunch of verbal hits to the right. In other words, it does a far better job of reaching its motto of being “fair and balanced” than any other major news network in the country.

I no longer vote for who 'could' win. I vote only for who SHOULD win.

The miserable FOX “News” continues its antiConservative, antiConstitution, and antiCruz campaign.

As the Republicans tack left, Fox follows along.

They surveyed “more than a dozen Democratic lawmakers”!

Ignoring the oxymoron, what a joke! This is a “survey”? No, this is a hunt for the right answer. BTW, there are over 200 democratic lawmakers. The rest were busy?

While at first blush, Dems might be more fearful of Bush stealing some of the Latino vote, Cruz would be much more effective pointing out the very real distinction between governing philosophies. Bush can’t do that. He agrees on too much with the Democrats.

Still, to publish a finding based on a survey of, presumably, less than 15 people is journalistic malpractice.

Precisely. Which is why liberals do not want a strong conservative opponent. Bush is eminently defeatable. Cruz is not.

I feel the same way. I hope I'm wrong about Cruz's electability but I've watched the electorate make bad decisions too many times. 2016 may be the first time I will not hold my nose and vote for President.

Just a personal reaction, but if I were a Democrat running in fall of 2016....the last guy I’d want to meet for three debates would be Cruz. With the exception of Regan....over the past sixty years....no Republican has come to a five-star level for debates. If it is Cruz (even I have doubts he can get the primary votes)....the debates are an end-all situation for the Democratic contender. They could even pull some miracle in getting their players as the moderators, and Cruz would likely tear them apart.

You said...
“Al Gore wanted Ronald Reagan to get the 1980 nomination, as he thought he would be easy to beat”

I think you meant Carter but I do remember reading articles at the time how the Carter administration was breathing a sigh of relief when Reagan got the nomination

They know exactly what he is and they think they’re being smart to say they want to run against him. I’m surprised that Fox ‘Latino’ passes this sh!t off as news or insight.
