I don’t know your background and I won’t begin to try to judge your attitude.
I’ll just say this for myself:
I spent a year in VietNam, 1970-71.
All men in war are afraid in one way or another.
But BY FAR the greatest fear that gripped me was the thought of being captured.
And I have no doubt whatsoever that that experience has a lot to do with the mental instability that McCain displays today.
Everybody knows that they crippled his arm.
I think they tore a huge chunk out of his psyche as well.
I really think that someone should have given him his pension many years ago and a nice porch with a rocking chair.
And then leave it at that.
I read his story or was it in a book, and yes,he suffered greatly at the hands of the VC. However, I agree with your point - he should have taken a pension years ago. Heck, he doesn’t even need a job, his wife is filthy rich. Anheuser Busch, doncha know? Keeping the alcoholics well watered is a nasty job. If he had played his cards right, he might have ended up in ketchup and pickles, instead of booze. Oh wait, what am I saying? Theresa Heinz Kerry is a lush, from what I hear. Now, if I’m wrong on this, I apologize.
You were captured, apparently, by emotionalism. Have your regrets, just don’t pump your crap here, okay? I guess the little broken leg, a bum pilot suffered, was unrecognized, in your stupid scenario about low sho McCain. So, you don’t know john boy’s wounds.

I agree....
