Odawg: Anyone (like you) who is against “Free Trade” in principle - is DELUSIONAL and also doesn’t believe in FREEDOM & FREE MARKETS.

The cold reality is we have a world economy and we MUST compete with the rest of the low wage laborers in the world. We’ll have to do so by working smarter and using our superior infrastructure & technology.

Are you really so naive to believe that we can create our own “American Job bubble” (with high wages/benefits that are incredulously insulated from the world economy).

Maybe you should join a Union...

In fact, the Union mentality is a close cousin of your Anti-free-trade mentality. When you naively say you’re against free trade, you’re essentially saying you want to establish an “American Labor Union.”

Study economics before you post.

There are worse things than happening to be on the side of "American Labor Unions." It seems to me that propping up the economies of corrupt third world countries with unilateral trade deals (i.e. we have open markets for their goods, they protect their markets with currency manipulation) is a good deal worse.

I HAVE studied economics, thank you. Americans can NEVER compete against slave labor in the third world countries. Plus the other countries aren’t dealing straight; they are blocking us out from their markets, stealing our “superior infrastructure and technology”, etc. Japan rose to an economic giant last century by NOT engaging in free trade. Ford plans on building a two billion dollar plant in Mexico, thanks to free trade agreements. That is a metaphor for what has happened and what will continue to happen. Add to that what is going on with H1-B visa holders replacing Americans here (I’m sure you are familiar with that, in your study of economics), which is something Cruz loves.
