Exactly. And, by the argument presented in the article, if it didn’t happen say in the bible not to do it, it would be perfectly fine to molest children. Which is to say, they would be all for molesting children except the bible told them not to.
Not at all. The point is, outside of the Bible or other commonly respected religious texts on the subject, attempts to define molestation end up simply being majority rule. We see the same problem with abortion. Some see it as evil, some see it as necessary.
The bottom line is that secular attempts to define right and wrong are always fluid, they change.
If you ask the guys at NAMBLA, they would argue that we (you!) don't have the right to deny children their sexual pleasure. And why should you get to make that choice? Just because you think it's yucky?
Without a Higher Standard, there is essentially NO standard, simply local practice, whim, and in the end, mob-rule.
