I remember the Volvo ads from the 70's condescendingly touting them as "the car for people who think". Problem was, in typical lib fashion, they were lured into a false sense of security thinking that because Volvos were supposedly as safe as a giant crash helmet, they could get away with driving like a**holes. Like the one Roger Moore drove in the TV series The Saint. In fact Moore himself owned a couple of 1800's.

I remember a really cool sport-wagon based on that model. I “think” I recall one at least. Thought it was neat as a kid.
