At least some of the protesters who looted, rioted, burned buildings and overturned police cars in Ferguson, Missouri, last year were promised payment of up to $5,000 per month to join the protests.
However, when the Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE), the successor group to the now-bankrupt St. Louis branch of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), stiffed the protesters, they launched a sit-in protest at the headquarters of MORE and created a Twitter page to demand their money, the Washington Times reports.
Presidential candidate and former Rep. Allen B. West, R-Fl., noted on his website, "Instead of being thankful for getting off the unemployment line for a few weeks and having a little fun protesting, the paid rioters who tore up Ferguson, MO, are protesting again.
"First of all, can you even imagine getting paid $5,000.00 a month for running around holding a sign and burning down an occasional building? That's around $1,250.00 per week. Try making that at McDonalds or Starbucks."

Um, hey John, they DIDN’T make $5000 in a month, they were PROMISED $5000 for the month by hard core leftists (our government).
Also... I would hope that ACORN did not break the law by failing to verify citizenship status, and that they withheld the appropriate taxes, as well as reporting these payments to the IRS.

Ferguson is witnessing an amazing new form of tourism. People are adding Ferguson to their list of places to see while visiting St. Louis. They are spending their tourist dollars at our local restaurants and seeing for themselves that the media lied about our fine city. Yes, Ferguson is recovering from last year's assault, but there is still much work to do. Those Freepers who have helped me and others in prayer - Thank you and know that your prayers are effective. This thread provides an opportunity to highlight and explain what's going on behind the recall election of Mayor Jim Knowles. Ferguson has two term limits on its elected officials, including mayor and councilmen. Mayor Knowles has been leading Ferguson through 2 tornadoes and the aftermath of Hurricane Ike (We never get hurricane flooding in St. Louis, but Ike flooded Ferguson and nearby Florissant very badly.) He has led us through the growth of our downtown district and the many positive festivals and events that enrich our lives in this city. He is nearing the end of his term and has grown wonderfully, both as an elected official and as a human being. Why the recall attempt when his term will be ending soon and he will not be able to run for re-election?
We have had the DOJ report sword of Damocles hanging over our heads since Holder released that fraudulent pack of lies and distortions. Mayor Knowles has been challenging the report, not only because succumbing to these extortions has damaged other cities, but because the claims are blatant mistruths that disagree with similar studies and reports done by the state of Missouri and St. Louis County.
Mayor Knowles is challenging this report. He is being personally attacked by criminals and vandals, but has the class not to air these felonies. A recall petition has been filed to remove him from office when his time in office will soon be legally ended. The people behind all these actions are protesting MORE because they haven't been paid for their looting and arson. Connect the dots. Is it possible that this useless recall drive, which is doomed to failure, is being backed by the political hacks heading the DOJ, and are using the manipulated and deceived (and unpaid) useful idiots? Conspiracy theory, tin-foil hat stuff, but after seeing ISIS, PLO, and Communist flags flying in my medium sized Midwestern town, after watching our political leaders, from Governor Nixon to AG Holder to President Obama stoke the fires of anarchy and revolution in my streets, after witnessing many good, fine police officers lose their careers on the altar of organized media-government complicity, I am willing to accept that this attack is possible.
Please pray that Mayor Knowles will continue to remain strong, that this recall effort will further display the foolishness of the manipulated and deceived useful idiots, and that more connections between the Ferguson insurrection and the Federal government will be revealed.
