Residents that have lived on the Blanco River for decades had never seen the water reach levels like it did Saturday night.
This is the worst one Ive seen in 25 years, said Mark Western, a resident of Wimberley. The highest Mark had seen the water reach was touching the Ranch Road 12 bridge in 1998. This time the water went over it, taking houses and foundations with it.

The Great Memorial Day Flood in Austin 1981!!!
Was at Lago Vista that weekend, We head home and 183 was under water. The Catfish Parlour was giving away beer/food to get people to come in and help get the food eaten before the Kitchen got flooded and ruined the Appliances. They had a 18 Wheeler box to put it in but when full they were to heavy to lift.
New Austin tornado warnin just announced
My heartfelt prayers for all in the flooded and tornado stricken areas.
I’m about 60 miles east of Dallas...if anyone needs a report...a lot of high wind and heavy rain in progress.
We haven’t had any flooding so far, thank goodness. It is just soggy as all get out. And my rheumatiz is acting up. I feel like the Tin Man and need to go find my oil can.
Where?
Thanks for the warning......Just called son and wife.....the cell had just passed them......but it’s still raining pretty hard, I think, and he asked for prayer.
(Of course as his mother, I’ve been keeping him in prayer anyway!)

My son emailed me they are under another warning in Austin.
East now to Baston County
Prayers going up now, for all y’all and anyone in the flood/tornado warning and watch areas!
The cell I had been watching coming in from the west tracked up toward Northern Collin/southern Grayson county. Fortunately, seemed to lose some of its energy.
Thank-you,
KXAN or KVUE reporting tornado on the ground at Texas State University in San Marcos. Don’t see it on their site but someone called it in.
There’s a tornado at TX State. Hubby just heard on kxan or kvue.
Thanks. Our friend is actually overseas with one of the school departments, right now. Prayers up for all students/residents.
Alrighty. The news isn’t talking about it anymore so hopefully there was nothing to it.
