The unemployed from all "communities" can look to the failed polices and dictates of President Barack Obama (who happens to be black) for the economy and lack of jobs.

I will also note, that increased racial tension across the country has been spurred on by former USAJ Eric Holder and President Barack Obama to deflect attention away from their administration's failed policies [as well as opportunistically placing the blame - as this article tries to do - on others for their own actions].

Economy shrinks = less money in government coffers = less money for government jobs.

Increased crime rates for young males is directly tied to lack of jobs.

The Left has a huge (unacknowledged) problem: as more and more govt clerical jobs are automated or privatized, there is less need for public sector employees. The state of Illinois will actually lead on this issue (eventually) because it has to— their state supreme court last week refused to permit restructuring their public sector pension obligations. That’s a $110B nut, and now all they can do is raise taxes and cut services (their debt is already junk status).

We’ll see how excited the Democrats are about big government when it’s services are automated, run by systems administrators, and quantified results of various programs are obtained with the click of a mouse. Oh, and computers don’t take vacations, need health insurance, or... vote.

Republicans should be embracing the shift. But they’re stuck in some kind early 1960s fog. They can state their principles quite nicely, but they lack the ability to formulate policy alternatives.

That’s ok, they’ll make almost as much with all the $15 minimum wage jobs in Los Angeles and Seattle.

Because blacks hold a disproportionate share of the jobs, relative to their share of the population, the cutbacks naturally hit them harder. But black workers overall, women in particular, also lost their jobs at a higher rate than whites

Oh look. The old trope about the NYT ("Women, children, minorities hardest hit") isn't a myth. They print this line with regularity.

....some researchers and union officials also see a racial undercurrent in the campaigns. “With public employment in general being under attack, it’s really an attack on these communities,” said Mr. Bodner of the Philadelphia transit workers union, referring to black people......"

So, now, any attempt to slow down, stop, or reverse the size of government is racist?

Then I am a proud racist.

My favorite line is this one near the beginning:

teaching school, delivering mail, driving buses, processing criminal justice and managing large staffs

You can see the editor. He tells the writer, “you can’t say that all black people do is deliver mail, drive buses and guard prisons. Throw in something that sounds good like, managing large staffs. And put teach school first.”

This is due to systematic and illegal racial harassment and discrimination.

Still too many parasites and free loaders on the public sector. All they do is steal from those that work and contribute to society. The deficit and overspending can not go on forever. Cause of this mess - government. And voters who do not understand, or do not want to understand what is happening to their nation.

No mention of how many of the fewer jobs are at the federal, state , county and local level. Guess the NYT just couldn’t possibly obtain that data.

In 2012, Romney raised this point with his “47%” comment. A growing share of people (especially unionized government employees) depend on big, well-funded government to supply their income. Rather than stating this obvious fact to one an all, though, Romney just said it once to a group of supporters, and then scuttled away from it when outed.

Here’s the thing: the government does not exist to provide unnecessary, over-paid jobs for lazy people. Now, many people believe that is exactly what the government exists for, but they are mistaken.

When can we expect racial quota’s to be enforced upon government workers as they have on the private sector that contracts with them...

I think we need to prioritize the layoffs and outright firing of “people of color” in government employment and a freeze on their hiring until they reach parity with the general population and create an enforcement method with the courts.

It’s only fair.

Well, that's a surprise.
