WASHINGTON (WJLA/AP) - A U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman says a bomb squad has safely destroyed a pressure cooker found in a "suspicious" vehicle left unattended near the Capitol building and that the vehicle's owner has been arrested.
Lt. Kimberly A. Schneider told The Associated Press by email that officers on patrol spotted the parked, unoccupied vehicle Sunday on a street on the National Mall west of the Capitol and an odor of gasoline was also detected. She says a bomb squad "disrupted the items of concern in the vehicle including the pressure cooker," producing a loud bang about 7:45 p.m. She says the vehicle owner, Israel Shimeles of Alexandria, Virginia, was located, arrested and charged with "operating after revocation" and was being processed at Capitol Police headquarters.

Sounds like they just blew up an empty cooking pot and then arrested the car’s owner for driving without a license.
I saw the footage of the detonation of said pressure cooker. It was just a pressure cooker left in a car.
Some guy probably went to a pot luck before, or intend to attend one afterwards.
Too bad, that’s a costly lesson to learn.
Very suspicious! (Particularly Volvos with "Gore 2000" and "Greenpeace" bumper stickers.)
JFnKerry has filed for another Purple Heart medal, claiming injury by rice pellets from the pressure cooker.
If you have to ask how to “disrupt a bomb”, you are in the 99% of the population who only know bombs from the movies. That is a good thing. Lots of things get “disrupted”. Not all of them are what they are suspected to be. Ask the Kennedy family about the movie projector in the plain brown box that got “disrupted” one Christmas in Aspen.
The owner...arrested, was named Israel Shimeles. So the authorities blew up the poor guy’s brisket.
He would file for a Purple Heart medal if his feelings got hurt.
I assumed the 'operating after revocation' was a traffic charge, but finding out he was a doctor, makes me wonder if he was operating with a scalpel after having his doctor's license revoked.
Maybe its a bot, but it seems to be a pretty harmless one. No real agenda showing in the articles posted.
My mother always wanted a pressure cooker. Unfortunately, she wasn’t very good at cooking with one. I remember, as a kid, when she tried to cook a chicken. The entire chicken, bones and all, somehow went through the pressure relief vent in the lid and coated our kitchens ceiling with a gooey, dripping mass of liquefied chicken. I’ve always wondered how much pressure and heat it takes to liquefy a chicken without bursting the cooker.
A source indicated that the pressure cooker may have been part of a propane tank used for a food truck, Fox News reported.
Ethiopian brisket...
Terrorist training manual.
Ethiopian? Oh. Then he’s a Christian?
I bought a canning pressure cooker at goodwill for $7 this week. Need to get a regulator and seal for it.
Garden veggies will suffer a painful torture using this device.
Come on. He posted an article making Israel look bad. That's flame bait for some of the dispys here.
His posts are all over the map. No agenda-setter posts all over the map.
I bought an electric pressure cooker earlier this year. It made a great corned beef and cabbage meal for St. Pats day. Some of the grandkids even liked it. I guess I will keep it at home and not open carry in my car.
What is this charge???? operating after revocation
