What the hell is going on around here. We got conservatives on other threads making heroes out of criminal scumbags in Texas, and over here we have some defending child molesters. What are we becoming, a bunch of goat ropers. What ever happened to the days when Conservative meant Bill Buckley and Firing Line. Call me an elitist if you must, but this trailer park stuff is starting to get embarrassing.
A criminologist described the phenomenon of Mafia families who would publicly profess Christianity but help cover up the murder and other crimes of their friends and family in violation of those principles as "amoral familism."
It's primitive, tribal stuff.
It is no different from troglodytes looting in Baltimore to protest the arrest of hardened criminals - because those criminals are the same ethnicity as they are, live in the same neighborhoods, etc.
I believe in moral absolutes and first principles, not tribalism, coverups, and closing ranks.
Just because the media are having too much fun with this for the wrong reasons doesn't mean we have to reflexively defend these dirtbags.
