You are right. More and more I see us becoming more like Bedouins in Anbar Province. We close our eyes to any misdeeds as long as the perpetrators look like us, or profess similar political or religious views. You cannot even offer constructive criticisms of “tribal” members without being savaged.

Really well stated. If as Christians and conservatives, we cannot DEFEND the most vulnerable among us, but calling out those who have great harm, we really aren’t acting as Christians OR conservatives. We are no better than those who will vote, support, look the other way, because a “D” is after a name...

We rail against the identity politics of the Left, then play the exact same game.

This is a new low, though: to defend and excuse this molester, just because his family is the “right” religion? It’s sick.
