Not just violence in movies. Also speaking of and glorifying violence in war. Or the romantization of gangstas, thugs, etc.
I don’t really see a live sex scene as anything more than someone doing a movie stunt (which happens in violent films all the time).
I wouldn’t “want” for someone I’m close to to be a stuntman/stuntwoman. Neither would I “want” them to be a soldier or police officer. Obviously you dont want those close to you injured but it is their choice and I would completely support them.
Big Hollywood romanticizes gangstas, thugs, AND big pimpin hoes up/pimps down stripperwannabe lifestyles. SEX and VIOLENCE.
And you think it's perfectly fine to show the result to a kid?
Sex depicted in a movie is not a stunt, it's sex. Falling down a flight of stairs isn't a facet of a human being. Sex occupies a place in the human psyche as well as being the means by which humans reproduce. Trivializing it has through history led to more human pain and suffering and death than probably damn near anything you can mention. That aside; I don't know what violence you were immersed in as a kid but the violence I saw approved of was in service of high principle and done in spite of the risk of death. If you're talking about the GRATUITOUS VIOLENCE prevalent today THAT is just a vector, like gratuitous sex that has been used by the enemies of our once great culture to destroy it. Your use of the words sex and violence without any moral focus or context is a symptom of the disease that is ravaging our culture today.
