1,000 weapons recovered at Waco biker brawl? Not quite, cops now say

Police in Waco, Texas, have sharply revised downward the number of weapons seized after a deadly brawl in a shopping center parking lot that left nine people dead, 18 wounded and 177 facing criminal charges of engaging in an organized criminal activity..

Police said earlier this week they expected to recover 1,000 weapons but now put the number at about 320.

Snip-- The weapons recovered include 118 handguns, 157 knives and 43 others, which includes brass knuckles and chains. Some weapons had been quickly stashed -- under seat cushions and even in a toilet. Police also said an AK-47 assault rifle was recovered.

Swanton blamed the complexity of the crime scene for some of the confusion about the number of weapons.

On Sunday, members of five motorcycle gangs met at the Twin Peaks restaurant in a shopping center in Waco for what participants have said was a previously scheduled meeting to discuss common issues, such as pending motorcycle safety legislation.

Forty-two of the approximately 170 suspects in custody in connection with the shootout are from Central Texas and 17 are from Waco or a Waco suburb, according to information released Wednesday.....that would seem to support the early report that most of the bikers involved in the brawl were not local.

The police did say the shooting investigation will take weeks if not months...so there simply hasn’t been enough time for the full picture.

There are three crime scene areas:
Investigators ‘identified crime scenes’ inside and outside including bathroom areas, the restaurant area, and the patio bar area. it’s confirmed that assaults occurred inside and outside the establishment.

It’s been reported about 300 weapons ‘from the shooting
scene’ (which could rise in number)..included pocket knives to assault-style knives to guns to chains to brass knuckles, to an AK-47...And INTERESTING BODY ARMOR.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, investigators had recovered 188 handguns, an AK-47 rifle and 157 knives

....’found’weapons hidden throughout the restaurant, evidently abandoned by bikers as they attempted to flee,....
found in ‘sacks of chips’, ‘stuffed between bags of flour’,....stuffed into the ‘bench seating’, hidden in ‘shelves’...thrown into’ trash cans’, placed in the ‘kitchen stoves’, discarded ‘on floors’ and even to attempt to flush a handgun down a commode,”

Other weapons have been discovered in some off the vehicles towed from the shooting scene, police said.

WEDNESDAY WALK THROUGH THE INSIDE OF THE RESTARAUNT DESCRIBED:

“When you enter through the doors, it is just an eerie feeling knowing what occurred there,.........

“There was blood everywhere, evidence in the bathroom.”

“It’s a pretty traumatic looking scene,” he said.

“It’s almost surreal.”

“There’s blood splatter blood evidence everywhere there’s

still food on the tables half eaten hamburgers half-drunk

margaritas. It’s the most surreal thing I’ve ever seen.”

“There are still purses on the table from a small number of citizens.”

“We’re talking unimaginable numbers of evidence that we’re going to have to live from this crime scene.

Eight of the dead bikers were members of the Cossacks and one was a Bandido, authorities confirmed.....All of those killed and injured were members of the Bandidos and Cossacks motorcycle groups

TWIN PEAKS CORPORATE STATEMENT:

“Unfortunately the management team of the franchised restaurant in Waco chose to ignore the warnings and advice ‘from both the police and our company’.... and did not uphold the high security standards we have in place to ensure everyone is safe at our restaurants.....“We will not tolerate the actions of this relatively new franchisee......

local police were on heightened alert in anticipation of trouble on Thursday nights, when Twin Peaks hosts a Biker Night.....Reyna said some weeks ago trouble erupted between two local motorcycle gangs and that spilled over into gangs from the Dallas-Fort Worth area showing up to support the local groups.

.
They were clubs, not groups of criminals.

They were there conducting a meeting, and were invaded by professional agitators that were not invited.

Sounds like you are a party crasher type that is sympathetic to the invaders.

The deaths were caused by the invaders who came to make trouble, and the swat teams.

You seem to be a propagandist in many of your posts.

Swanton warned against drawing conclusions from “selective videos or cropped photos,”... which don’t provide a full picture of how the incident unfolded, and said that once investigators are able to release all of their findings, ‘what happened will be clear’.

He said he has viewed surveillance videos of the violence, and said they tell a different story from the some of the accounts being spun online.

“We can’t wait to show you what truly happened,” he said.

He also dismissed claims that all the bikers at the restaurant were arrested at the scene.

More than 200 people were involved in the melee he said, and “some were intentionally released.”.....”If you were innocent, or we thought you were innocent, you were one of those that did not get arrested,”

The death toll from the shootout was greater than the total number of homicides Waco police investigated in 2014,

I wonder if the Waco police was responsible for those too...

Unless you or I were actually there to KNOW what happened what good does it do to pre-judge and convict law enforcement who were likely faced with a very bad ‘no-win’ situation.

Once again - we have too many people rushing to blame the cops, Kinda of reminds one of other groups who when their people commit crimes it’s the fault of the police.

Yes. Thank you. I know. I have learned to pick up on certain cues to determine if someone is a liberal or not. He has company here too unfortunately.

I can understand someone wanting to stick up for the police. Heck; most the time I want to and initially I did in this case because I just couldn't believe any police dept. would intentionally massacre civilians going about their business; even if they are not liked by that police dept. This is America after all.

Even assuming two rival clubs had a beef; anyone who knows about outlaw clubs know they tend to keep things between themselves and not outsiders. They may be outlaws in some kind of regard but they aren't monsters like ISIS or anything.

Well, enough rambling. Thanks for looking out.

10 and a half years ago I was working in Groesbeck, Texas. I picked up a Waco Tribune on Saturday with a feature story on Vernon Howell. Sunday morning I watched on TV the ATF charging out of cattle trailers attacking civilians. Vernon could have been picked up any time when he was off the compound at Mt, Carmel. That was for show.

What happened at Waco this Sunday has the marking of for show.

Since I don’t ride motorcycles I have to rely on people I know that do. I do know Christian Motorcycle Club members and they are not afraid to witness to Bandidos.

Last year I worked in Brenhan, Texas. The wife and I were eating at Waller countyline BBQ. There were Bandidos there and they seemed to be courteous enough people. Evidently you don’t like them by inferring from your post. Is the Bandido’s a Crime organization? I don’t know. I do know LE will exaggerate there description to the press.

I didn’t know that supporting law breakers was a criteria for being considered a conservative here!

“There were Bandidos there and they seemed to be courteous enough people.”

Edward Winterhalder explains the dynamics of the Bandidos/Cossacks feud and how he is not surprised that this fight took part.

He said people in the gangs are willing to die over their jackets/patches.

I suspect that we have been deliberately denied sufficient info to understand this event.

None of what is presented hangs together in the slightest.
