Indonesia yesterday sank a large Chinese vessel as well as 40 other foreign boats that had been caught fishing illegally in the countrys waters, a move likely to spark a strong reaction from Beijing and other regional capitals.

The illegal boats were just there as an act of love.
Bomb the boats, feed the fish.
Indondesia, of course, could whup China easy.
bttt
We may find out if the Chinese leadership is as spineless as the South Korean.
The Chinese bully come surprize surprize, then get sunk, surprize, then cannot do anything but whine because they were caught and are afraid to i pose a war on Indonesia, mobilizing the island.
This is how you treat creepy communist scum bags. The progress when we are not mobilized, so you dare them to mobilize us.
We are learning, and one day communist scum will get their treats, because socialists and liberals and muslims will not come to their aid when sht hits them square.
A shooting war (between totalitarians) could get interesting...
but we know which side Duh-1 would come down on.

Indonesia is indeed a majority Muslim country, but one with substantial Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, and animist minorities. The province of Aceh is the only part of Indonesia where Muslims have gained a stranglehold on power and it is the most backward part of the county and is now destined to stay that way. Bali Province, on the other hand is predominantly Hindu with significant Christian, Buddhist and Muslim minorities.
Indonesia's national government is staunchly secular with a state ideology known as Pancasila, and for several years now has maintained a steady, stable democratic tradition of elections and peaceful transitions of power through several election cycles.
Your apparent tarring of Indonesia as totalitarian is very wide of the mark and demonstrates a lack of knowledge of the region.
You are absolutely CORRECT !
Religions:
Muslim 87.2%, Christian 7%, Roman Catholic 2.9%, Hindu 1.7%, other 0.9% (includes Buddhist and Confucian), unspecified 0.4% (2010 est.)
Sorry, you misunderstood. I did not mean to tar Indonesia as “totalitarian”, I meant to paint Islam (and Communism) with that brush. China has had problems with the Muslims to their West as well.
It’s amazing the amount of ignorance there is about Indonesia.
It’s the fourth largest country in the world and the third largest democracy, has less of a Muslim terrorist problem than France or many other European countries, gets along well with its neighbours and has been a good friend of the US and the west for the past half century but you’d swear it was the ultimate in dark menacing terror if you read comments here and in other forums.
It’s actually a credit to the left who never forgave Indonesia for wiping out the Communists so successfully and who have demonised the country ever since to such an extent that it’s simply part of the mental picture of anyone who hasn’t much knowledge of the country that Indonesia remains a dangerous “Archipelago of Fear” as one Communist writer recently described it.
“Its the fourth largest country in the world and the third largest democracy - - “
You are joking, right?
I did not know that until this morning.
Wish they could do the same with poachers in the illegal wildlife trade..
Interesting that you listed them separately. Trying to start another FR shouting match?
The Indonesian military has a large amount of Christians in it. You can easily tell the difference when it comes to names. Their military is one of the best in SE Asia.
The Indonesian brand of Islam is a much different kettle of fish than the Shias and Wahabbi Sunnis of the Arab world. In fact, the further you get away from Mecca, the more civilized the Moslems become.
The efforts by the Wahabbis to get madrassas set up in Indonesia have only really had success in Aceh and the Indonesian security forces do a dammed good job of keeping the nut cases on a pretty tight leash. Indonesia is actually a pretty decent model for how a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multi-cultural nation can operate when it is decently governed.
Just sayin'.
