The makeshift mid-street memorial that marked where Michael Brown was fatally shot by a police officer last summer was cleared out Wednesday what would have been his 19th birthday amid plans to install a permanent plaque in his memory nearby.
"I would like the memory of Michael Brown to be a happy one," the marker reads, bearing a likeness of Brown in a graduation cap and gown. "He left an afterglow of smiles when life was done. He leaves an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy and loving times and bright and sunny days.
"He'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that he left behind when life was done."

LOL... I just smiled.
Nice, if I’m ever in the neighborhood, I’ll know where to make a “pit stop”.
Will there be a monument to the burned out stores?
Please tell me that one of them will be Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment". It would be so apropos on so many number of levels.
I would BDS the whole crowd that dress like him, I wouldn’t hire them.
Sung to Jim Croce’s ‘Leroy Brown’:
now big mike is a bully
and he likes his cheap cigar
he should have stuck to petty crime
instead of fight’n cops in cars
now he’s dead dead michael brown
deadist fool in this whole damn town
deader than a road kill dog
gone sooner than the morning fog
now mikey, he got no rules
and he do just what he wants
if you get in his way he’s gonna kick your butt
and throw in a few taunts
now he’s dead dead michael brown
deadist fool in this whole damn town
deader than a road kill dog
gone sooner than the morning fog
but then mikey, he met Darren
and he gave him no respect
he brought his fists to a gun fight
what result did you expect?
now he’s dead dead michael brown
deadist fool in this whole damn town
deader than a road kill dog
gone sooner than the morning fog
A memorial to their stupidity...in brass no less.
Ha, unless I miss my guess, that’s a TPD [Toledo OH police dept.] shoulder patch in your graphic! I used to live there, decades back. I thought something looked familiar! Must be outside the Toledo Museum of Art, adjacent to a part of T-Town that is known as The Old West End, some of which is...rather Ferguson-like, if you get my drift!
I read the headline and for some reason thought that they were opening a memorial shooting range at the site to commemorate the event.
A permanent memorial to a criminal thug... wow. How touching...
I didne even notice the locale...to tell you the trruth ...just the fine “redendering” of the “chalk outline” on the sidewalk, and the person walking past it ..apparently leaving a museum of some kind.
Thank you
It’s quite fitting as Toledo has been called ‘Little Detroit’ in NW Ohio for some time now—and it’s moving ever further south...
Im surprised we havent read about any YOUT Protests.. incidents In Toledo
Nope, not much of nothing in that respect. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time, though...
You've got to be kidding.
The appropriate memorial would be a pile of HUNAN EXCREMENT.......
Human..... EXCREMENT
