There’s a more effective approach. Just introduce large amounts of poisoned drugs into the marketplace. With perhaps a 1% chance of dying each time you get high, the smart ones will quit, the stupid ones will keep going till they’re dead.
Either way, society is ahead.
The poisonous effects of these drugs do shorten life, just like cigarettes. My sense of morality does not have an ends justifies the means remedy to combat the drug epidemic. Adding to the poisonous effects would be like someone putting pins in children’s Halloween candy because they want to end Halloween. That is why I prefer getting the supply network because, as with any distribution network, interruptions cause huge effects.
