Hispanics of one group or another? All Hispanics in my experience call all girls Mami and all boys Papi.

Yes, I don’t know if all Spanish people do that, but the ones I’ve known in the NYC area certainly do.
It always seems so silly and cute to me when you call a little baby Mami or Papi, it’s like role reversal.
