That really does not make any sense. Pretty much all formal military gatherings include prayers during the ceremonies. Often prayers start and end the gathering. Usually they are delivered by a chaplain or other officiating person. This is a long tradition.

Since Obama took over, military prayers at functions have’s almost ceased. Chaplains have been disciplined and are being phased out.
