What do you do when you have 30 million young salmon ready for their big journeys downstream, but drought and development have dried your riverbeds to sauna rocks? In California this year, you give the fish a ride.
State and federal wildlife agencies in California are deploying what they say is the biggest fish-lift in the state's history through this month, rolling out convoys of tanker trucks to transport a generation of hatchery salmon downstream to the San Francisco Bay.

You Freepers shouldn't be too hard on the libtard ... cause Gov. Moonbeam doesn't know that Salmon have dealt with droughts for millions of years ... or that the salmon will cause another environmental catastrophe when they die in the tens of millions in San Francisco Bay if the drought isn't over in three to five years ... or that the salmon can be easily restocked with product from same hatcheries that are turning them out now ... and besides, California has plenty of money and can go on increasing taxes for ever!
LOL.
Give ‘em a ride upstream only to be stranded because there won’t be enough water to get back to sea.
Liberal Logic.
Entertaining & simultaneously pathetic.
It is astounding how much money we all pay for salmon habitat. It is, of course, a big scam to halt development.
We waste billions on a farm fish that is $6 a pound at the grocery store. It’s madness.
“The fish is vital for California’s fishing industries”
And vital if you relish wild-caught salmon, which I do. So I for one am delighted this is being done so I can eat those little suckers when they become BIG suckers!
This isn’t being done due to moonbattery, but is being done for food-supply purposes.
