I fully agree. The very fact that someone can think along these lines is by itself disturbing and what is why I posted it.
A title of this article actually betrays author’s stupidity.
He wants to sell an idea that Morsi and his corrupt Islamist regime was a kind of triumph of freedom and progress and then puts a quote from ignorant protestor as a headline to support his narrative of how bad things turned after Morsi’s ouster.
I can understand when some two-bit Turkish protestor really believes that banging animals and burning books is somehow more culturally advanced thank building channels, libraries and pyramids but it is strange situation to see any Western author thinking around the same lines.

The Middle East already has a welfare state, “Palestine”, though Egypt might be able to get the largesse by taking it back and then demanding more from the UN.

Tahseen Bashir, or Tahsin Basheer, (April 1925 – June 11, 2002) was an Egyptian diplomat who served as both a confidant and spokesman for several Egyptian presidents, including Gamal Nasser and Anwar Sadat. In 1977, Bashir was appointed Egypt’s ambassador to the Arab League, and later he served as ambassador to Canada until 1985.

He coined several memorable political phrases. Regarding his belief in the centrality of Egypt within the Middle East he opined, “Egypt is the only nation-state in the Arab world; the rest are just tribes with flags”.

That is an improvement. Let’s hope Coptic makes a comeback as the main language as well.

“Good riddance to Morsi and his MB gang.”

“Ancient Egypt was able to feed itself plus a large portion of southern Europe.”

Until the coming of the Varsity under Mohammad and his Disciples who used vast herds of goats to strip North Africa of vegetation, turning the grain basket of Africa into semi-desert during the period 620-720 AD.

He was absolutely correct, of course, in the Arab world, as said.
