U.S. Special Operations Forces had to fight hand to hand in Friday nights raid that killed the Islamic State terrorist group senior commander Abu Sayyaf, several defense officials told The Daily Beast Saturday.
Troops from the U.S. Army Delta Force landed near a multi-story building with Ospreys and Blackhawks and were met with resistance when they entered, including hand to hand combat, one official told The Daily Beast.
There was some resistance from armed guards and from the terrorist commander himself, but the troops were well prepared to handle that, another official said.

You know....it looks like he is working on his kicking game...
Might as well end weapons training too and just teach the Troops how to spread unicorn dust.
Let 'em go at it.
When muslims are killing other muslims they are not killing Christians and Jews.
America's enemies will always jump at the chance to use women and children as human shields.
That's ALL enemies; foreign AND domestic.
La Raza, black hate groups, the Homo Mafia, labor unions, etc.
They all do it.
Whew, just in time, a story to detract from Seymour Hersch’s account of the BinLaden raid and restore Obama’s manhood. I didn’t believe Hersch’s story until this convenient story of hand-to-hand combat, which absolutely did not come from Delta Force.
Never Interfere With an Enemy While Hes in the Process of Destroying Himself __ Napoleon Bonaparte
Unfortunately, we are doing the opposite of Bonaparte’s advice.
Exactly ... complete with the chum about them hiding behind the women .... people are just eating this stuff up!
Great catch!
Delta Force missions are classified. In fact, no special operator is supposed to give any details of any mission. The idea is that it could reveal tactics and techniques to any enemy, thereby increasing the vulnerability of the special operators on their next mission.
For the longest time, the US didn’t even acknowledge the existence of Delta Force. I’m not sure that has officially changed.
I know everyone loves Chris Kyle, but one sector of criticism for Chris Kyle came from within the special operator ranks. Not because he wasn’t one of them, and not because he’d openly violated any classified material. It was an ethos of silence that was broken, and some thought that silence had a reason behind it.
I’ve noticed them trying to walk back the Osama bin Laden hit in the media recently with confusion about Pakistanis being introduced into the mix. That gives some idea in my mind about how precious silence about their operations is to them.
What I saw of La Raza at Murietta is them standing in front of their women — especially the ones with the biggest mouths.
When an American protestor would challenge one of the pro-Mexican women, the La Raza guys would push in and say “You can’t talk to a woman like that”. Didn’t matter how foul mouthed and obnoxious the woman was being.
Just a few months ago, we were supposed to have killed another ISIS leader, this one in Iraq. But ISIS has come back stronger than ever since then; just yesterday it took over the critical city of Ramadi.
And a few years ago, we killed the top leader of al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, and yet since that time jihadi terrorism has exploded.
So while the media is cheering and Obama is bragging and the dead ISIS leader’s wife is in American custody, what can we expect from ISIS except an escalation of fury against the U.S.?
Did you mean behind their women?
The pro-American side:
Kicking a Ram?
But that is only my opinion.
I remember an old military saying...”IF YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO STICK’EM YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO SHOOT ‘EM.”
Nah. General (Whimp) Dempsey’s last hurrah.
Nah. Trying to screw (with) a ram. The ram ain’t queer and don’t appreciate the long donged one approaching his rear.
Apparently fending off an LA Ram attack.;D)
