It is the USA that is largely responsible for the robust state of the English language today. Not the most logical nor the least logical of languages, but its speakers keep on embracing new concepts into it.
We may be responsible for keeping it at the forefront, but Britain exported it around the world; the Americas (north & Caribbean), eastern, western, and southern Africa, Asia, Australia...even Hawaii.
