Heh, his favorite song was ‘Always on My Mind,’ the Willie Nelson version.

I'm not a Willie Nelson fan either.

Evidently you don't know what "country blues" means. I suggest you go to YouTube or Spotify and listen to some Charlie Patton, Son House, Barebecue Bob, or Yank Rachell.

Sure, I know. I only brought up that some people actually like different music even though they are associated with something different. To each his own.

You might enjoy the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, MS. Several years ago I was eating a hamburger next door at Ground Zero and Morgan Freeman walked in. The last time I went down there Sam Moore and Charlie Musselwhite were there. Like most Delta towns, it’s an impoverished place, but I enjoy the blues. I like it all, but I prefer Hill Country Blues—R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Bukka White, etc.

By the way, Yank Rachell grew up in Brownsville, TN, and so did my grandfather. Yank was a few years younger than my grandfather, but they were of the same generation. I’m sure their memories of that time and place were vastly different. Decades later I was born a few miles away. My memories of Brownsville from the 60’s are of an endless sea of cotton.
