In the 70’s when America abandoned the south Vietnamese people to a horrific fate I was ashamed. This abandonment of allies occurred after Nixon was driven from office... the promises that this nation made to our friends, that we would take strong measures if the North Vietnamese communists broke the peace accords they had agreed to were eagerly dispensed with by a shameless democrat congress.
I had hoped that such a thing would never happen again and that slowly our allies would come to trust our word. America regained much of that trust and then this nation was foolish enough to elect Obama.
Now here we are again, our commitments and promises are the subject of ridicule...and rightly so.
How far are we going to fall? Will it ever be possible to regain the trust this once proud nation had?
