I was a big Hartford Whalers fan back in the day, but.. they're gone. And have been gone for decades. So I'm over it. Many bitter Whalers fans still aren't over it.. yes, I know that some hate the Wolf Pack. Whatever.

I've always been a Bobby Orr fan, so I guess I naturally gravitated back to the Original Six Boston Bruins...

Just curious... why are there so many Tampa Bay Lightning fans, but so few Tampa Bay Rays fans? At least that's the perception I have based on what I've seen on TV and in person (at Tropicana Field, anyway... haven't been to Amalie Arena).

I'm guessing that many people who left the north and midwest to settle in Florida still maintain their allegiances to their MLB teams, but maybe have newly discovered the NHL and the Tampa Bay Lightning?
