Well... I've been waiting to hear the engineer's explanation.
Seems like he is trying to pull a Hillary.

That’s why black boxes are also on the train.

To be fair, I would point out that memory loss is quite normal considering the injuries he sustained.
However, I think he would remember why he was going so fast.
I wonder what AMTRAK policy is on being late ? Do they dock the engineer’s pay ?

The black box can only explain what speed they were going and where. It cannot explain why.

Sure he doesn’t. He was busy doing something he shouldn’t have been, that’s for darn sure. Texting someone, calling someone or who knows what.

He was lawyered up before he left the emergency room.In all fairness (especially since it is repeated constantly on FR) lawyering up is just an intelligent reaction.
Even if he did nothing wrong.

Does not matter what is on the black box nor how fast the train was going (100+ mph according to media reports),
Congressional Democrats and the white Hut have decided that Republican cuts to AMTRAK budget next year are at fault.
Media confirmation to follow.

I agree that it is not shocking that he would have memory loss, if only temporarily.
I really don’t want to jump to any conclusions and ASSume the worst based on some alleged info regarding his personal issues.
The worst may be as it usually is - great negligence of some sort.

Lawyering up is an intelligent reaction especially if he did nothing wrong.

He was busy doing something he shouldnt have been, thats for darn sure. So, are you presuming that the speed limit on the sections for track BEFORE you get to the junction where the crash occurred is OVER 100 MPH ? I ask, because I don't know. I think it would be important to know that.
