Wow! I wish we would have the sense to put an American version of that poster near common illegal entry points and enforce it.
When I was in Japan, there was a possibility the next leg of a business trip to Singapore would be Australia, so I had to go get a visa which I ended up not using.
They were quick and courteous about it, but I guess there are no visa free entries for even short term visits like America has with a number of countries including Japan, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and most of the EU countries.
