Damage is estimated at $9 million for the destruction of hundreds of businesses and two homes during the recent unrest in Baltimore with at least 30 sustaining major damage, according to information released Wednesday.
The Small Business Administration estimated the damaged at about $8.9 million to 284 business and $60,000 to two houses, officials told The Baltimore Sun.
U.S. Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, along with other Maryland Democrats, called for Small Business Administration to assist with the creation of disaster centers in the city and a plan to inform business owners who are eligible for benefits about how to apply for assistance.
Many of the damaged businesses have limited or no insurance coverage, according to the BDC. Some of the most severely damaged businesses remain closed, and their owners have no source of income.

another arrogant entitled jerk....
9 million isn’t right..
They would save the taxpayers money by just saying, "Sorry to see you go," because the businesses ain't coming back.
“creation of disaster centers in the city and a plan to inform business owners who are eligible for benefits about how to apply for assistance.”
Oh good God.
It never ends.
And it’s like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Hey, it really is like that!
So, you coddle and enable these jackasses by giving them money for nothing, let them do any damn violence they wish with no consequence; THEN say you’re going to “assist” businesses RUINED by the very thugs you enable!
Why not just prevent the thugs from acting out so violently and immorally, get after them so they don’t even do it, then no money needs to be paid out for MORE welfare - to business.
Providing “assistance” to individuals - $
Providing “assistance” to individuals and the businesses they destroy - $$
NOT providing assistance - 0
Maybe Stephanie or one of her cronies could start a go fund me account. As I recall there was a successful fund raiser for one or two Ferguson riot victims.
