He wasn’t being racist, he was telling you the truth - and that truth is: There are certain neighborhoods across the country controlled and terrorized by black thugs. Just seeing your white skin is justification for violence.

No, you’re right. In his way he was telling me the area was populated with black thugs. He was also telling me, by his actions that he wasn’t one of them. that’s what I meant by painting with a broad brush. Being prepared is never wrong or racist.
