If he gets his way.....churches won’t be around anymore. Government MUST be the new church. He has 18 months. they will get the gay agenda via SC. Then all churches will be attacked and lose tax exempt status.

...it’s what the establishment clause is also about, they’re not required to file for 501c3 in the first place to be tax exempt. The law specifically exempts “the Church” because the Constitution was also intended to protect the Church. If you have the power to tax you have the power to destroy. The founders never intended for the government to be able to do that.
Fooling the Church into thinking it had to file to be exempt was all so they could then be told - be careful what you say now, don’t be political. Well, fine...so long as the government doesn’t start treading on theological issues. This idea that politics and religion are two distinctly unrelated things is for fools.
The Church needs to lose tax exempt status, say what they want on the political front, refuse to pay taxes and continue to do what a Church should be doing. It may get ugly but the government will lose, coming out of it the Church will be far stronger.
It makes no sense to have the right to free speech, freedom of religion and the concept of “separation of Church and State” (goes both ways) but then have the state tell you what you can and can’t say in a Church. If the government has a position on abortion and gay marriage of course the Church has the right to challenge these ideas with their congregations, along with explicitly stating what a given politician stands for.
The Church has been silenced for too long. Only fools would try to tax the Church, so of course it will happen - the fascists are also fools. They have no idea what they’ll be unleashing, I say - let it happen.
